“Shimmer: a selection of paintings by Sylvia L Simon”

Sylvia Simon has been painting privately for over fifty years, developing a quietly rigorous practice grounded in color and geometry. Her work moves between precise abstraction and more intuitive gestures—grids of diamonds, spheres, and planar forms interrupted by moments of poured or layered paint. Though she has never exhibited until now, the paintings reveal a lifetime of visual thinking: meditative, vibrant, and exacting. Shimmer speaks to the subtle motion within the work—a sense of light in flux, and color as an active, perceptual force.
